Roger McGough
Born in Liverpool, Roger McGough is the author of over fifty books of poetry for both adults and children, as well as editing numerous anthologies.
During the sixties he was part of The Scaffold, whose song 'Lily the Pink' was a hit worldwide, and the ground-breaking collection 'The Mersey Sound' (with Brian Patten and the late Adrian Henri) has recently been republished in the Penguin Modern
Classic series.
The winner of two Baftas for his film work and a Royal Television Society award, he helped write the script for The Yellow Submarine animation film. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, he has a Cholmondeley award and is twice winner of both the Signal and CLPE Awards for the best book of poetry for children.
He is an Honorary Professor of Thames Valley University, a Fellow of John Moores University, Liverpool, and has been awarded D.Litts from the universities of Hull, Liverpool and Roehampton.
He was made a Freeman of the City of Liverpool in 2001, and received a CBE from the Queen in 2004 for services to literature. Currently he presents Poetry Please on BBC Radio 4 and lives in Barnes, south-west London with his wife and two of his four children.

Di Redmond
Di Redmond who lives in Cambridge is a prolific television script writer.
Her credits include numerous series such as Magic Roundabout, Bob the Builder, Postman Pat, Tweenies, The Hoobs, Angelina Ballerina, Noddy, Jungle Book and Fifi and the Flowertots.
She’s also written live action series for television, and stage plays, “The Odyssey” and “Kingfisher Pond” for the Polka Theatre in London, “Shoot the Angels” and “Robin the Hood” for the Cambridge Youth Theatre and an adaptation of “Hard Times” for the
Edinburgh Festival.
Di is a successful author with over a hundred titles to her credit and a celebrity ghost writer. One of her ghosted novels was nominated for the Smartie Award Ceremony in 2008.
Di’s really looking forward to working with budding writers who want to break into the highly competitive world of television script writing. Her personal experience of over twenty years of professional writing, plus her in-depth knowledge of the media industry and its commissioning process combined with her expertise at leading Arts Council writers’ workshops will form the backbone of her week’s time-table.
Di plans to spend some of the week with her group in Robert Grave’s house, Ca N’Alluny where the writer of the “White Goddess” and “I Claudius” found his muse…. and where she hopes you will find yours.
